20 September 2020 -- One Month In

Today is September 20th, so this website is now one month old, which is cause for celebration.

It’s been busy here! Over the past month I have posted:

31 blogposts – essays, really – one a day – for a total of 17,269 words

11 songs (I've posted a new song and video this morning, as a matter of fact),

30 (often embarrassing) photos

and 15 videos.

I wanted to go hard at first and get solidly into the discipline, build a robust base of work, a strong foundation. I have learned a lot already about what this site might do, and who I might become in building it, and it is invigorating.

Since we went live on August 20th — my birthday! — I’ve renewed friendships with old friends and been introduced to musicians and artists from around the world who have reached out and said hello. I’ve had 495 different people make 3715 page visits, apparently, which is very gratifying. Thank you all, very much, for your interest and support.

Looking ahead, this space is an empty container asking for new content every morning, and it thus focuses my time and attention, allowing me to be thoughtful and productive while the world whirls ever faster around me.  So I expect I will continue posting new content frequently, but perhaps not on a daily basis as I have been so far.

If you have comments or suggestions for the work I am doing here, I would love to hear them. Thanks for coming by!
