20 August 2020 -- Here We Are

You will never really be ready. And there is never really a good time, either. To quit smoking. To start a new job. To move. To start exercising. To break up with someone. To get sober. To start a new relationship. To go vegetarian. To go vegan. To get married. To buy a house. To go back to school. To make amends. To have kids. To commit to your art. To start a website and put it out there. Etc.

And yet here we are.

Because something funny happened during quarantine last spring. After putting 50 songs on Facebook in 50 days as my "Tune-A-Day Challenge," I realized that  -- however much I enjoyed it, which was quite a bit -- I didn't really want to play other people's music very much anymore. That given the time I have left on the planet, I really want to focus on writing and performing my own original material. I have circled this idea repeatedly over the years but always shied away from it in the end. But not this time.

So here we are. On my birthday. Throwing myself into something new at the tender age of 58.

I created this site to share my words and music with others, to explain how and why I do what I do, to meet people and make new friends, and to encourage and support others in whatever their -- whatever YOUR -- creative activities might be. I welcome your ideas and feedback on my work and the larger efforts of the site.
